MPOWER is a Placer County program to promote more efficient use of water and energy, enable property owners to reduce energy costs, save energy, and strengthen our local economy through job creation.

Now, more than ever, residential and non-residential property owners are looking for ways to save money on their energy bills; reduce their impact on the environment; and stimulate the local economy. With the help of MPOWER Placer (Money for Property Owner Water and Energy efficiency Retrofitting, formatted as property assessed clean energy (PACE)), that goal couldn’t be easier.

MPOWER Placer will finance energy efficiency improvements and energy generation systems such as solar photovoltaic to qualified Placer County property owners, with no upfront costs. MPOWER Placer makes it simple and easy for Placer County residential and non-residential property owners to save money and upgrade to energy efficient appliances, ventilation, improved building envelopes, solar panel systems and much more!

As energy efficiency becomes more important and electricity rates continue to rise, solar panel financing is a clear way for people to invest in solar panels for homes.

Accompanied with energy efficiency measures including upgrades to the building envelope and energy efficient appliances, utility customers are sure to save money and save energy. Property assessed clean energy programs like MPOWER Placer, simply amortize the amount of the low-interest loan for solar panel systems and upgrades, then the customer makes payments toward the investment along with their property taxes. Solar panels for homes and energy efficiency save energy and hedge customers against rising electricity rates. These options are also good for the environment.
